Currently, Private Investigators are not licensed within the UK. There have been many conversations in parliament surrounding the regulation of our industry. We as a professional investigation company fully support regulation and only have fully trained investigation officers.
However, here at Private Investigators Newcastle, we believe that licensing would be great for the industry. It will ensure everyone operates to a particular standard and ensure all investigators are acting lawfully.
Private Investigators Newcastle is a current member of The Institute of Professional Investigators.
The Institute Of Professional Investigators has recently worked alongside WAPI & UKPIN which are other professional organisations within the sector. Filling the void on licensing and have come up with a joint code of ethics & professional conduct for investigators.
All members of the above professional bodies must abide by the code put in place. It is hoped that other professional bodies will follow suit.
Follow the link to the IPI website which shows the full code of ethics and professional conduct https://ipi.org.uk/code-of-ethics/.
